Personal Information We Collect or Process

"Personal information" means information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you. Depending on how you interact with the Services, we may collect or process:

  • Contact details including name, billing address, shipping address, phone number, and email address.
  • Payment information including payment method, transaction amount, and payment confirmation. Full card numbers are processed by our payment providers. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems.
  • Account information if you create an account, including email, password (encrypted), preferences, and settings.
  • Transaction information including products viewed, cart and checkout activity, purchases, returns, cancellations, and order history.
  • Communications including information you send in support emails, chats, reviews, or return requests, including photos you choose to send.
  • Product-safety information if you report a quality or safety concern. We use this only to review the report, meet legal duties, and help you, never for marketing.
  • Device and technical information including browser type, device type, operating system, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and unique identifiers.
  • Usage information including pages viewed, links clicked, referring URL, and how you navigate the Services.
  • Marketing and advertising identifiers including cookie and pixel IDs used to measure ads and, where you allow it, show relevant ads.

We do not knowingly collect information about children. Please do not send us personal details or identifiable photos of your child unless needed to resolve an issue.

Personal Information Sources

  • You, when you create an account, check out, subscribe to emails, contact support, or submit a return;
  • Automatically, through the Services, cookies, pixels, and similar technologies;
  • Service providers, such as Shopify, payment processors, delivery companies, email tools, and analytics or advertising partners;
  • Partners or other third parties, such as advertising platforms or fraud-prevention tools, where permitted by law.

How We Use Your Personal Information, and Our Legal Basis

  • Provide the store (to perform our contract with you): process orders and payments, deliver products, handle returns and refunds, manage accounts, send order and shipping notices, and provide customer support.
  • Improve the Services (our legitimate interests or, where required, your consent): remember your cart and preferences, fix errors, and improve our site and products.
  • Marketing and advertising (your consent, or our legitimate interests where the law allows): send promotional emails, measure campaigns, and show ads. You can opt out at any time.
  • Security and fraud prevention (our legitimate interests): protect accounts and checkout and detect abusive or illegal activity.
  • Legal and safety reasons (legal obligation): comply with law, tax, and accounting rules, respond to lawful requests, handle disputes, and review product-safety reports.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our partners use cookies, pixels, and similar tools to run the store, remember your cart, understand traffic, prevent fraud, and, with your consent, measure or personalise advertising. You can manage your choices through our cookie banner and your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may limit site features. Where required by law, we treat a valid Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of targeted advertising for that browser.

How We Disclose Personal Information

  • Shopify and service providers that help us operate the store (hosting, checkout, payments, tax, fraud tools, email, customer support, analytics, fulfilment, and delivery).
  • Payment processors and banks to complete your transaction and prevent fraud.
  • Delivery and logistics partners to deliver orders and process returns.
  • Advertising and marketing partners (for example Shopify, Google, or Meta) to measure and, where you allow it, personalise ads. They have their own privacy notices.
  • When you ask us to, such as delivering to an address you provide.
  • Legal, safety, and business transfers: to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or sale of our business.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Relationship with Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services. Information you submit may be transmitted to Shopify and other providers located in other countries. Where Shopify uses data from your interactions with our store and other merchants for its own features, Shopify is responsible for that processing. See the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and the Shopify Privacy Portal.

Third-Party Websites and Links

The Services may link to sites we do not control. Their privacy practices apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or security.

Children's Data

The Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact support@trycloudelle.com and we will delete it.

Security and Retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please do not send card numbers or sensitive information by email.

We keep personal information only as long as needed, including:

  • order, payment, delivery, and return records for as long as required by tax and accounting laws (typically up to 6 years);
  • account information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards;
  • customer-support and product-safety records as needed to resolve issues and meet legal duties;
  • marketing records until you unsubscribe, plus a short period to honour the opt-out.

Your Rights and Choices

Under UK and EU data protection law, and depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate information;
  • Delete your information, subject to legal exceptions (for example, order records we must keep for tax);
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing;
  • Portability: receive a copy of certain information or have it sent to another organisation;
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • Email preferences: unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in any email. We may still send messages about your orders.

To exercise your rights, email support@trycloudelle.com or call +1 (551) 350-2581. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within one month. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Complaints

If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first at support@trycloudelle.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or to your local data protection authority if you live in the EU.

International Transfers

We may transfer, store, and process personal information in the United States and other countries. If we transfer personal information out of the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or a transfer to a country recognised as providing adequate protection.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
